Choose the region for the complete journey
Since 1 January 2026, access to the practical exam in Wallonia requires passing both theory and the risk-perception test in Wallonia. For the M18 route, the technical driving-capacity test must also have been taken there. Check the whole path before choosing a centre solely for its next available appointment.
For example, passing theory in Brussels does not automatically let you continue to a practical exam in Liège. The regional notice explains that passes obtained in other regions no longer give access to the Walloon practical exam under this requirement.
Choose the language and centre together
The ordinary exam is in French. German is available at Eupen. English or Dutch is exceptionally available by appointment at Couillet and Wandre. This does not mean that every centre offers every language at every session.
Contact the relevant centre before booking. Ask about the session format, required documents and current charges. Choosing a study language on Mazlet does not reserve an official language option.
Understand weighted scoring
The exam has 50 questions and requires at least 41 points. A minor error costs one point and a serious error five. Two serious mistakes mean failure; one serious mistake plus four minor ones leaves 41 points.
During practice, note which rule caused the mistake. Explain why a situation is treated as a serious offence rather than recognising a familiar symbol or picture. Then try a different example of the same rule.
Arrange training after repeated failures
The Walloon portal describes twelve hours of theory lessons after two failures, or a multiple of two, before another attempt. Check the required certificate and its validity with a recognised driving school and the centre.
Home practice remains useful but does not replace compulsory training. Prepare the documents for the next attempt before restarting an intensive sequence of tests.
Make your revision specific
List a few difficult situations: misread priority, a missed speed limit or unfamiliar vocabulary. Revisit each rule and describe how the answer changes when one detail in the picture changes.
Before exam day, check accepted documents, registration and travel. Leave time afterwards to review the explanations for your latest practice errors.
