Driving theory exam in Brussels: centres, languages and planning

Choose the region for your whole journey

To take the practical exam in Brussels, you must already have passed theory in Brussels. An available theory appointment in another region does not satisfy that requirement. The regional authority names the Anderlecht and Schaerbeek centres.

Do not automatically transfer Flemish advice: Flanders announces its own regional requirement for January 2027, whereas the Brussels requirement already applies. Record where you passed and keep the documents together for your next step.

Standard languages and interpreted sessions

The Brussels theory exam is available in French or Dutch. Interpreted sessions for English, German or sign language require an appointment; the centre appoints the interpreter. Ask in advance about the procedure, necessary documents and current charges.

Studying in a language on Mazlet does not determine how an official centre offers it. List the terms that slow you down. Compare how well you understand a question rather than simply how familiar the written language feels.

Understand the score and your mistakes

Passing requires at least 41/50. An ordinary error costs one point; an error about a serious offence or maximum speed costs five. Two five-point errors therefore produce a failing result.

For each practice mistake, identify whether you missed the rule or misread the situation. If the picture confused you, describe vehicle positions before rereading the options. If a word caused trouble, restate the question in your own words. This gives your next study session a specific purpose.

Check the training requirement after failures

After two successive failures, Brussels requires twelve hours at a recognised driving school before another attempt. Lessons taken before those failures do not replace this training. Ask for the required certificate and put it with your other documents.

Another practice test can help learning, but cannot replace compulsory formal training.

Make a short appointment checklist

Check accepted documents, booking and the conditions of your chosen session with the centre. Divide your remaining practice between one weak topic and a mixed question set. Read explanations instead of collecting scores without reviewing them.

Start with the free Belgian theory test. Mazlet is independent of examination centres and provides original learning questions, not official exam questions.
